When it comes to your bird's health, toys and activities are as essential as food and water. Birds are very smart and they need toys that provide stimulation to their minds. Most birds like to chew, so anything made out of bird safe wood is always great. They also love shining and noisy little things. Bells and hard plastic balls with bells inside make great toys for your new baby. In the wild, most birds forage for their food and this activity takes up much of their day. Foraging toys are always a good addition to your bird's toy box because they encourage a bird's natural skills. Always try to keep a few additional toys, so that you can rotate them around in your birds cage each week to avoid boredom. This is best done during cage cleaning time, that way the new toys won't startle your bird as much.
We have decided to include bird toys on our site because they are such a necessary item for your bird. A bird that sits in a cage with nothing to do all day can become very bored. This can lead to many health problems, such as feather plucking or screeching.
